Identify one traditional and one emerging technology from the book, and explain how you could potentially use all four devices in the classroom.
Audio technologies:
A traditional technology is the tape recorder. For an emerging technology, the tape recorder has updated to the iPod. Both of these could be used in the classroom. The tape recorder could be used in the classroom because, for example, if a teacher talks too fast, the student could record them and go back through after and make efficient notes. An iPod could be used in the classroom to download eBooks on, or use it for simple things such as a quick internet research or a calculator.
Visual Technologies:
A traditional technology is the bulletin board. An emerging technology is a smart board. Both of these could also be used in the classroom. The bulletin board could be used in order to display permanent messages or weekly messages that everyone in the classroom needs to see. On the other hand, the smart board could be used on a day to day bases in order to show the topic of interest for that day.

Chapter 6
Based on the information in chapter 6, would you prefer to teach in a classroom that had more or less digital technologies? Why or why not?
After reading chapter 6, I concluded that I would prefer more digital technologies in the classroom. One because it seems as if having this would make many activities in the classroom a lot easier. For example, Before reading about the digital camera, I didn't really understand how it could be used in order to teach a lesson. After reading the article, I realized how there are many different ways to incorporate a camera into the classroom, and I think it would be beneficial to utilize them. Also, things such as microphones could be used in a large classroom so everyone can hear better and is more apt to pay attention. Before reading the chapter I was a little skeptical about using digital technology in the classroom, but after reading all the things you can use and how they can benefit the teaching, I came to the conclusion that I would prefer to teach with more digital technology.

About Me
My name is Chelsea Buoye, and my major is Early Childhood Education. I was born in Texarcana, TX, and moved to Kansas when i was two years old. I lived there for ten years, and when I was twelve, I moved to Rochester, NY. I love children, which is why i chose to be a teacher. My ideal grade to teach would be second grade because I feel as if kindergarten is too young and fourth grade is a little older than what I was looking for. Also, a very close family friend is a teacher at the second grade level and when I lived in New York, i would go her school with her and help her with her students, and that's how i chose the second grade. I am very friendly and I love meeting new people. I love to read and also in my spare time I like to write. My favorite hobby is basketball, and I play whenever i get the opportunity.
